Toko Okuda, 2015 January 2nd, Barcelona

We visited a very nice marble and granites fabrication supplier not far from Barcelona city, and it was a great experience to see and to touch such beautiful huge stones. They were colourful, dynamic, elegant, and very strong.

Designer, Toko is from Japan, and from the culture of wood. She was very impressed by the giant stone plates and cubes from Italy, Spain, Turkey, Brazil etc… Especially the ones from amazonian area, they were green, blue, orange, and red at the same time. Sun light let them appear, bright and metalic colours inside.

The famous italian, chic monotone marble called Marquina was also amazing. It was absolutely elegant. It can be very black with fine white lines, or the opposite, or even can be just white as much almost as polystyrene foam board without any tiny spot.

When Toko said ” I feel like making something with marbles! “, Mr. Alex Soler said ” Pay attention not to make something too rigid.”

Yes, that should be well controlled in stone products design, but it is exciting to think of the theme.

A very nice guy attended us, whose name is called Albert Serra, and the company is called GERMANS SERRAGermans means brothers in catalan, and Albert is a son of one of the brother. He was wearing a pair of nice blue vintage adidas and chambray jeans with unique shaped back pockets.

Toko said ” I liked everything.” Already she has some ideas not to make too rigid products. It will come after other products waiting in the line for the fabrication.
