We visited a very nice marble and granites fabrication supplier not far from Barcelona city, and it was a great experience to see and to touch such beautiful huge stones. They were colourful, dynamic, elegant, and very strong.

Designer, Toko is from Japan, and from the culture of wood. She was very impressed by the giant stone plates and cubes from Italy, Spain, Turkey, Brazil etc… Especially the ones from amazonian area, they were green, blue, orange, and red at the same time. Sun light let them appear, bright and metalic colours inside.

The famous italian, chic monotone marble called Marquina was also amazing. It was absolutely elegant. It can be very black with fine white lines, or the opposite, or even can be just white as much almost as polystyrene foam board without any tiny spot.

When Toko said ” I feel like making something with marbles! “, Mr. Alex Soler said ” Pay attention not to make something too rigid.”

Yes, that should be well controlled in stone products design, but it is exciting to think of the theme.

A very nice guy attended us, whose name is called Albert Serra, and the company is called GERMANS SERRAGermans means brothers in catalan, and Albert is a son of one of the brother. He was wearing a pair of nice blue vintage adidas and chambray jeans with unique shaped back pockets.

Toko said ” I liked everything.” Already she has some ideas not to make too rigid products. It will come after other products waiting in the line for the fabrication.

It has taken long time for us to realise the wooden part of the new furniture from the Cats series.

Apart from the special wood material by a Japanese master Mr. Shinichi Mizushina, We also have developed good relationships with people in the woodworking industry around Barcelona.

We are happy to see the furniture finely made by Orwood company. (It is included some parts to be replaced by metal.)IMG_5086

L’Alex and El Xavi at Orwood.

We have been supported by such a great people.

Without Mr.Xavier Rodriguez I Guimera,we would not have made the very first product in Spain, he knows what quality is, beauty and perfection. He has been reading one of the best metal fabrication company in the world, which is called IBERPLATA. He and his co-workers are kind of angels for us, and also they are masters and great masters. We would celebrate his brain and his sense of values which drives our creation to a higher level of completion.

Mr.Alex Soler Belloso has a great company called ORWOOD, dedicated to design and fabrication in wood. And also He is a designer of many elegant and modern furnitures. Sometimes he offers a little time to us, for his nice and fruitful business lecture, which has been my favourite time there.

We are based in Barcelona, and working under the heavy economic crisis in Spain, but we have been working together with many young, talented craftsmen and engineers. They must grow their careers in the field they ever like, that is what we hope too. We will work harder not to lose a bright future of craft products.
